Getting Started

Create an account, register your company, and make your first API call

This guide walks you through setting up your BizCARE Books e-invoicing integration from account creation to your first API call.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • An LHDN MyInvois account (sandbox or production)
  • A valid Tax Identification Number (TIN) for your business
  • Your company registration details (registration number, business type, address)
  • Your MyInvois client ID and client secret from the LHDN portal

Base URL

All API requests are made to the following base URL:

https://api.bizcare.my/api/v1/

https://api.bizcare.my is the only API host.

Sandbox and production share this host. Your API key decides the environment (biz_test_… submits to LHDN's sandbox, biz_live_… to production); the API otherwise behaves identically.

Step 1: Create an Account

Sign up for a BizCARE Books account at the BizCARE dashboard. You will need to verify your email address before proceeding.

Step 2: Create an Organization and Subscribe

After signing in, create an organization and choose a subscription plan. Your plan determines the number of companies you can register and the monthly document submission limits.

Step 3: Register Your Company

Navigate to the Companies section in the dashboard and register your business. You will need to provide:

  • TIN -- Your Tax Identification Number issued by LHDN
  • Registration number -- Your SSM or other business registration number
  • Registration type -- BRN, NRIC, PASSPORT, or ARMY
  • MyInvois client ID and client secret -- OAuth credentials from the LHDN MyInvois portal

These credentials allow BizCARE to submit documents to LHDN on your behalf.

Step 4: Generate an API Key

Go to E-Invoicing Settings → Developers in the dashboard and create an API key. You must choose the environment the key is bound to — test (sandbox) or live (production). The key is prefixed accordingly (biz_test_… / biz_live_…) and can only access data in that environment. The user context is automatically derived from the key's organization.

Store your API key securely. It will only be displayed once. If you lose it, you will need to generate a new one.

Step 5: Make Your First API Call

Verify your setup by hitting the health endpoint:

Check API health
curl -X GET https://api.bizcare.my/api/v1/health \
  -H "X-Api-Key: biz_test_your-api-key"

A successful response confirms your credentials are valid:

{
  "success": true,
  "data": { "status": "ok" }
}

Step 6: Get Your Company Details

Retrieve your registered companies to confirm everything is set up correctly:

Get company
curl -X GET https://api.bizcare.my/api/v1/companies \
  -H "X-Api-Key: biz_test_your-api-key"
{
  "success": true,
  "data": {
    "id": "a1b2c3d4-e5f6-7890-abcd-ef1234567890",
    "name": "Acme Sdn Bhd",
    "tinCode": "C12345678000",
    "registrationNumber": "202201012345",
    "registrationType": "BRN",
    "isCompanyReady": true
  }
}
